Philosophy

At UEE, we know that curriculum should always be evolving to best meet the needs of teachers and students. Who better to suggest and create enhancements to the curriculum than the teachers who use it everyday in their classrooms? Teachers have the creativity and the know-how to enhance a lesson or customize an assessment, but usually lack an efficient platform for collaboration. Too often, teachers spend their careers isolated from their colleagues and peers. This lack of professional contact blocks opportunities to share best practices for the benefit of all teachers and all students. At UEE we know that this practice needs to change.

The goal is that an individual teacher’s brilliant lesson can be used to benefit not just the students in her classroom, but also students across the country. The capability for technology to address pressing issues in education reform is well recognized.
Philanthropist Bill Gates highlights this in an editorial article in Forbes magazine.

UEE’s Unique Approach

Our curriculum website is an efficient and scalable forum for teachers to exchange best practices and valuable content. For example, teachers can access pictures of bulletin boards for inspiration (see the sample on the right). They can also submit their own lessons, rate and comment upon materials, and post queries to be answered by their peers or UEE’s curriculum and teacher training experts.

Scalable Solutions

It is imperative that we act quickly to solve the problem of scale before another generation of young people misses out on the opportunities that a quality education provides.
